Directions are pretty straight forward. Mapquest either Whister or Pemberton, BC. The Rutherford turn off is about 20 minutes north
of Whistler or 10 minutes South of Pemberton. Signs will be out on the highway pointing you up the right road.
From the parking
area about the 5 km mark it roughly a 15 km trail ride. It will be groomed to the best of our ability.
Spring snow does not hold
up well so watch out for groomer on trail all day Saturday. Keep the speed down people.
There will be signs out on trail and
glacier directing you to the drag area and the hill climb/bbq area.
Map to give you a
general idea of
where it is.
1) There are no classes (run what you brung)
2) There is a saftey list check for that.
3) There are only 30 bibs for drags.
We have to limit it to this because we have to have drags done by noonish. There are the core group then whats left over after that
is first come first serve. No bib no race. This will all change next year but this is the way it is this year.
4)You will have to pay
a $10 deposit for bib. This will be refunded on return of bib. keep the bib we keep your money to replace bib. You will also be signing
at waiver at this point.
5) Trying to set up a general meeting for racers but with our fallout with the PVL its going to be tough now.
Going to try and get conference room for an hr or so on Friday night at the Holiday Inn in Whistler for this. It will more than likely
be a true outlaw style with signing on your first trip to the line. It will all work out. M ore to follow on this.
6)Trying to have
a groomer at start line to help with trenches. If it does not happen then you all will have to deal with it.Thats racing.
7)There will
be warm up heats starting around 0930. That will last for an hr or so.Then the elimination rounds start. Four at a time, top two move
on other two go home. This will continue till we have our top 4. Then these top four will at it in one final single race. Top guy
get bragging rights for fastest sled
1)Again must be wearing a bib to qualify. No bib or signed up and you pull something great it don`t count for us anyway.
2) All
judges must be present to see your climb.
3) If you pick a line iit must be "doable). No trying to climb up a rock face and claiming
you took the sickest line of the day)
4) Your climb must be completed to count.
5) Its a free ride hill climb so pick your own line,
no gates.
6)one climber at a time please for safety reasons.
7) At the end of the day the three judges have final say on who is the
Big Dawg Champ for sickest climb.

Let's have a safe BDSO
***You must have a working tether. This is a must.***
Just want to let people know that we have sponsors this years and they have paid to have their banners and tents on the hill.
If
your not a sponsor you can not put up banner or tent and yes we do have an event permit.
If you do we will kindly ask you to take it
down. Please don`t make this an issue. Its not fair to us or our paying sponsors who are helping make this event grow.
Want to show
off your product and your cheap? Do it in the parking area please.
Thanks for your understanding on this issue.
For all filmers and film crews amateur and professional coming to capture the greatest snowmobile event in the world.
We at the
BDSO are not denying anybody from filming. All we ask of you is that if you have a BDSO segment/ footage in your movie(s) to kindly
incorporate our sponsors banners in it. Also in your closing credits to have a "BDSO brought to you by" and list all who helped
make this happen. We can send you all that info. We are also looking for volunteers for cleanup on Sunday as well.
We don`t feel this
is asking a lot as the BDSO is a popular event and could possibly help with the sales of your product.
Thanks and we will be watching
