The BDSO was the brainstorm of Paul Gibbs and Shawn Hamilton back in 2005. After being participants in the Big Iron Shootout for a couple of seasons, an outlaw hillclimbing event held in Revelstoke, BC for many years, the two decided that the west coast needed an event like this also. So with less that two weeks planning the BDSO was born.

 What is the BigDawg Shootout you ask? Well if you have not guessed it by now its a snowmobile hill climbing event. Its nothing more than a few friends getting together in late April one last time to ride together for bragging rights. They get together to do a little hill racing but more importantly hill climbing. Some really really big hill climbing that is. Its turned into a great spectator sport.

 Its all done in good fun amongst friends. No prizes, no second place, just bragging rights of being the best that day and being able to brag about it all summer long.
